Following and messaging

How follows work, who can message you, and what message requests are.

Following and messaging

Following

Tap Follow on a creator row, a profile or a card. Following is one-way: they don't have to follow you back. Their videos fill your Following filter and weigh more in For You. Your followers and following lists are on your profile; either can be hidden in Settings → Visibility.

Who can message you

By default, people you follow can message you directly. Anyone else lands in Requests, the violet pill in your Inbox, and you decide whether to open a conversation. Change the rule in Settings → Messages: everyone, people I follow, or nobody.

Scene chats

Joining a Scene adds its group chat to your Inbox. Leave the Scene to leave the chat, or mute it from the chat's header to stay in without notifications.

Sharing a video

Share on any video sends it into a conversation, a Scene chat, or out of Tubaar as a link. Links open the video in the app when it's installed and on the web when it isn't.

Blocking

Block from any profile, video or conversation. A blocked person can't see your videos, follow you, Echo you or message you, and isn't told. Blocked accounts are listed in Settings so you can undo it.
