About Tubaar
Tubaar is a short-video social platform built around discovery, participation and community. Members watch short vertical videos in Pulse (in a card view or full screen), respond to a video with an Echo — a video reply that joins a visible chain — join interest- or place-based communities called Scenes, share temporary Stories, follow creators, comment, message, and create and publish their own videos from the Create studio.
Tubaar launches African-first — Kinshasa, Lagos and Abidjan shape its early identity — and is open to the world. It is the second consumer product of Nevolut, sharing its account system with Ontryst: one account, one set of credentials, two apps.

- Primary: Photo & Video
- Secondary: Social Networking
Platform availability
Tubaar is available on Android (Android 10 or later) and iOS (iPhone, iOS 16 or later). Store links and device requirements are on the download page. Public content can be watched without an account; creating, Echoing, following and messaging require one.
Age rating
Tubaar carries an App Store age rating of 12+ and a Google Play rating of Teen. The app is for people aged 13 and over; members under 18 receive a protected experience with limited messaging, discoverability and recommendations.
Content and features
Tubaar is a short-video social service for people aged 13 and over. Content created and exchanged inside the app includes:
- Short vertical videos ("Originals") with captions, hashtags, sounds and an optional city-level location.
- Echoes — video responses attached to another video, forming chains and branches.
- Comments, loves, saves, shares and reposts.
- Stories (ephemeral, 24 hours).
- Scene activity — posts, prompts, challenges and group chat within a community.
- Direct messages, message requests and shared videos.
- Live broadcasts, together with their comments and reactions.
- Profile photos and creator profiles.
Each of these is documented for members in the guides: Pulse, Echo, Scenes, creating a video, Stories and following and messaging.
Content rights
Tubaar does not license, embed, or otherwise depend on third-party content that we are not permitted to use. Every video, Echo, comment, story, and message on Tubaar is created and shared directly by our members, who retain ownership of their own content. Nevolut S.A.R.L.U. holds only the limited hosting and display license needed to operate the Service, as described in our Terms of Service.
Privacy — data collected
Apple displays a privacy nutrition label on every App Store listing. The following summarises the categories of data Tubaar collects, as declared in App Store Connect and described in full in our Privacy Policy.
Data used to track you — None. Tubaar does not use data to track you across third-party apps or websites.
Data linked to you
- Contact Info: phone number or email address used to create your account.
- Location: approximate location used for the Nearby feed and, where you choose, a city-level label on your videos; exact location is never shown to others.
- User Content: videos, Echoes, comments, stories, messages, and other content you create.
- Identifiers: your Tubaar user ID and, where granted, your device's push-notification token.
- Usage Data: in-app activity such as videos watched, loves, Echoes, follows, Scenes joined, and session metadata used to improve recommendations and the service.
- Sensitive Info: none is collected by Tubaar. Optional attributes added to the profile shared with Ontryst are never displayed or used by Tubaar.
Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Tubaar is currently free, and the mobile app contains no in-app purchases. Every feature — Pulse, Echo, Scenes, Create, Stories, messaging and live — is available to every member at no cost, on both the app and the web. Nothing auto-renews and nothing is billed.
Optional paid plans may be introduced in future, starting on the web. If and when that happens, subscription terms, pricing, trial periods, and cancellation rights will apply as set out in our Terms of Service. Members who purchased a subscription previously can still manage it, cancel it, or ask about a refund — see Is Tubaar free? and payment problems.
Trust and safety
Every member gives their date of birth during sign-up; under-13s are refused and 13–17s get a protected experience (restricted messaging from adults, limited discoverability, filtered recommendations). Members can report any video, comment, profile, message or Scene from its menu; block and mute accounts; filter comments; and control who can message them and who can Echo their videos. Tubaar combines automated detection with human review, labels sensitive content, keeps recommendations age-appropriate, and gives every moderation decision a reason and an appeal path. Our Child Safety Standards describe our zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Support
Most questions are answered in the guides and help pages, including a troubleshooting section. If you still need help with your account, a subscription, or anything else, you can reach our support team at support@tubaar.com or through the contact page. For privacy-related requests — including data access, correction, or deletion — write to privacy@tubaar.com. For child-safety concerns, contact child-safety@tubaar.com.
Operator
Tubaar is operated by Nevolut S.A.R.L.U. (head office, Democratic Republic of Congo) together with its European Union branch Nevolut S.R.L. (Romania). For details on how your data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
License agreement
On iOS, Tubaar is distributed under Apple's Standard License Agreement; on Android, under the Google Play Terms of Service. This is separate from, and in addition to, our own Terms of Service, which governs your use of the Tubaar service itself.
