Echo — answering a video with a video
What an Echo is, how chains and branches work, and who can Echo you.
Echo — answering a video with a video
An Echo is a video response connected directly to another video. Unlike a repost, it becomes part of a visible chain.
Making an Echo
Tap Echo on any video that allows it. The Create studio opens with the original attached — you can record a reaction, a remix, a dance response, a continuation, an answer, a correction, or your own interpretation. Publish it like any video.
Your Echo always shows who it answers, with a link back. Credit is automatic and can't be removed.
Chains and branches
Original
→ Echo 1
→ Echo 2
→ Echo 2a (answers Echo 2)
An Echo can answer the original or an earlier Echo, which creates branches. In Pulse:
- swipe vertically for another video, as usual
- swipe horizontally to move between the original and its Echoes
- Continue Echo chain plays the whole conversation in order
Who can Echo you
Per video, at publish time or later: everyone, followers only, or nobody. Turning it off later doesn't delete Echoes already made; it stops new ones.
Removing an Echo of your video
From the Echo's menu, the original creator can detach it from their chain. The Echo stays up on the author's profile, but no longer appears in your chain. Report it instead if it breaks the Community Guidelines.
