Creator subscriptions
Subscribing to a creator with your plan, what subscribers-only posts are, and how to offer subscriptions to your own audience.
Creator subscriptions
Following a creator is free and always will be. Subscribing is different: it uses your Tubaar plan to pay that creator every month, and it can open posts they keep for subscribers.
Subscribing to someone
Open their profile and look for Subscribe beside Follow. It appears only for creators who have subscriptions switched on.
What the button says tells you where you stand:
- Subscribe — you can, right now.
- Requested — the creator reviews requests and has not answered yours yet.
- Subscribed — you are in. Tap to stop at the end of the month.
- Needs a higher plan — this creator asks for a plan above yours. See Plans.
- You've reached your limit — your plan covers a set number of creators. Stop one to start another.
Subscribing costs you nothing beyond the plan you already pay.
Stopping a subscription
Stopping does not cut you off. You keep the creator's subscriber-only posts until your next renewal, and they are still paid for that month — you already paid for it. The button reads Ends on renewal until then, and Resume puts it back with nothing further to pay.
Subscribers-only posts
A creator can publish a post for subscribers only. If you are not subscribed you see a locked tile on their profile instead of the video, and tapping it offers to subscribe. Nothing about the post is sent to your phone until you can watch it.
If your plan lapses
If your plan stops renewing, your subscriptions pause — they are not deleted. Tubaar keeps the list. When you renew, you turn them back on one at a time, so you decide who to keep rather than being charged for everyone at once.
Paused subscriptions still count against your plan's limit, so a returning member can be at their limit with nothing active. Drop the ones you no longer want and the slots come back.
Offering subscriptions to your audience
You need a Plus plan or above and a verified account to offer subscriptions. Receiving creator support needs Lite or above.
Go to Settings → Business → Subscriptions. You choose:
- Who may subscribe — the minimum plan a member needs.
- How requests are handled — accept everyone automatically, or review each request yourself.
Requests you need to answer appear on the same screen. You are paid 12 Baar for every subscriber, each month their plan renews and is paid, whichever plan they are on — see Earning on Tubaar.
You can remove a subscriber at any time. Blocking someone ends the subscription in both directions.
